kapa haka & ahuriri kahui ako kapa haka festival
A highly respected and well-supported Kapa Haka Group operates in the school. Each year this group performs with distinction in the community and at local events. A highlight on the calendar is always our Tamatea Community Kapa Haka Festival.
The festival will be held this year on Monday 18th September 2023 at Pettigrew Green Arena.
Keep an eye out in the school communications for when tickets are available.
after school art classes
Through the Out of Hours Music and Art scheme Tamatea Intermediate is able to provide after school art classes once a week during term time.
Note: Classes for 2023 are full.
school dance team
Our school dance/ cheer team is really popular amongst both Year levels.
In 2022 they performed the Spring Collective, school Variety Show, Versus Talent Quest run by Respect Dance Academy, and the Napier City Christmas Parade. They also performed at our local contributing primary schools.
