Specialist Performing Arts/Music Teacher - permanent position
If you are a passionate and dynamic performing arts OR music teacher with the ability to inspire young performers, nau mai, haere mai! Tamatea Intermediate School is looking for an enthusiastic kaiako to lead our specialist Performing Arts / Music programme.
We are seeking a creative and engaging teacher with the ability to connect with adolescents and foster a love for music or drama. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and lead a performing arts programme in our kura, shaping experiences that will leave a lasting impact on our ākonga.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in our brand-new performing arts centre You will be supported by a collaborative team and have opportunities for professional development.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
Have experience in teaching music, performing arts, or drama to intermediate-aged students.
Can lead and inspire school performance groups (e.g., band, choir, kapa haka support, or drama productions).
Are confident in incorporating Te Ao Māori, tikanga, and diverse cultural influences into performing arts.
Have experience with instrumental teaching, vocal coaching, or digital music production (preferred but not essential).
Are a collaborative and innovative teacher who can connect with ākonga and spark their creativity.
